Kid’s Halloween Costumes

October 16th, 2006 at 10:58 pm (costume ideas, children's costumes)

When I was a kid, Halloween was my 2nd or 3rd favorite holiday. My Mom made our costumes since she could sew. As I’ve been watching the searches for costumes, the second most popular one surprised me - Captain Crunch. For someone who can sew (or use fabric glue) this should be a reasonably easy costume to make. I’ll do some research to see if the local seasonal Halloween costume store has Captain Crunch costumes, or anything that could be adapted. The basic costume is simple - Blue pants, a big blue jacket decorated with gold ribbon and a Commodore’s hat with a big gold letter “C” on it. I report what I find.

There have been a bunch of searches also for Strawberry Shortcake costumes. I’ll check into that one also.

Harry Potter is still a very popular search and it is an easy costume to buy or make. Black glasses, hair over the forehead and the lightning shaped scar and you are just about there. Add a cape and you have it made. If you want to carry something a broom would be a good choice.

More soon.
